TERMS & CONDITIONS
(yes, the small print)

Any form of interaction with The Wayward Collector (TWC) means the following terms and conditions are accepted.
Payment
TWC accepts payment via cash or direct bank deposit.
Returns
All items are subject to a process of curation and research before sale. Their description (including photographs) represents a fair and reasonable attempt to provide information regarding/including its provenance, country of origin, maker and condition. The purchaser is responsible at all times for conducting their own confirmation research. All questions regarding an item before purchase are welcomed as no responsibility is offered after purchase. Wherever possible a physical inspection is available and encouraged.
No returns are offered by TWC. ‘Buyers regret/remorse’ or change of mind after purchase is not accepted as a valid reason in any circumstance.
Should an item be found to be fake (and accidentally sold as genuine by TWC) immediately after receipt by the purchaser, it is requested TWC be contacted within 48 hours. A reasonable example of applicable items would be a Rolex watch or valuable painting by a famous artist. After confirmation (eg by an authorised Rolex Agent or gallery expert) the purchase amount and postage for that item will be refunded. It is requested the purchaser return the item in the same condition as sent, and if wanting to keep the item (eg a painting is found to be ‘school of/follower of’ with its own intrinsic value) then an agreed percentage value will be refunded. Any modification to any item after receipt by the purchaser invalidates any claim in all circumstances.
In any and all circumstances TWC aims to provide well-described and photographed items for sale.
Item holds
Unless a holding deposit is paid and agreed-to payment schedule adhered to (eg paid in full by the agreed terms of both parties), all items are freely available for sale and will not be held. If an agreed-to payment schedule is not honoured in full by the purchaser, the holding deposit will be kept by TWC as compensation unless exceptional and extreme circumstances apply (eg death of purchaser) - this does not extend to financial hardship or change of mind.
Damaged items
All items are sent in the condition described (including photographs) and carefully packed - once posted their arrival condition becomes the immediate and full responsibility of the entity/company (eg Australia Post, DHL, etc) and its subcontractors chosen to freight these. If an item arrives damaged, it is requested that the purchaser immediately contact TWC within 48 hours to inform them (and provide photographs). An insurance process will then occur to determine the amount payable to the purchaser. Any modification to any item after receipt by the purchaser invalidates any claim in all circumstances.
Non-supply of items
If for any reason an item cannot be supplied by TWC after payment has been made, the purchaser will be contacted and the full amount of that item refunded via bank transfer. In the instance of multiple purchases by the one purchaser, all other paid-for and available items will be sent. Failure to provide appropriate bank account details will result in associated costs being deducted from the refundable amount (eg if an Australia Post money order is required, Registered Post and postage costs, international bank charges, etc).
Respectful communication
It is always the intention of TWC to provide helpful communication. Regardless of circumstance, should at any moment/in any instance your language or actions become aggressive/abusive, threatening, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or deemed inappropriate/unwanted – TWC and its agents reserve the right to immediately cease any and all (as well as any future) communication (this includes any form of social media). Please note this behaviour may void any potential claim or compensation being sought against TWC.
Attempt to defraud
Any interaction that is deemed an attempt to defraud TWC (eg spam) will result in immediate cessation of all communication, with any of this passed onto relevant legal authorities and affected organisations – leaving you liable to potential prosecution and/or other actions by those bodies.
