Offered for sale is vintage 20th Century Australian reproduction articulated Bankers/Clerks desk-lamp, made by Peaston and estimated as dating from the 1960’s to 1980’s. Peaston were well-known as a domestic maker of floor and desk lamps post-WW2 until the 1980’s.
Modelled on antique 19th/20th Century examples the well-made design features a multi-part, plated and hinged metal form with articulated sections (allowing for adjusting the lighting angles). The on/off switch works and bulb throws a nice textured light. Over time the plating has taken on an aged character which adds to its charm and appearance.
In very good overall original condition. There is patination appropriate for this being a correct vintage item and not modern reproduction. Has not been inspected by an electrician, so highly-recommended this is done before any use.

FUNKY Vintage 20th Century Mid-Century Modern table lamp

Offered for sale is this funky vintage 20th Century Mid-Century Modern table lamp, estimated as dating from the late-1960’s to 1970’s. Despite research the maker could not be identified.
The design features a multi-part construction with glazed ceramic base, internal electricals and (what is most likely the original) lampshade. Influenced by West German pottery, each panel of the six-sided base has been incised with a series of repeated abstract geometric forms and textured interior. The lower rim has a repeated gallery of incised ovoids. All this has been nicely finished in a pale green/olive glaze with brown highlights.
A fun decorative element for any home or business.
In very good overall original condition. There is patination appropriate for this being a correct vintage item and not modern reproduction. Was previously tested and tagged (removed for photography purposes but will come with the lamp).
Measures 62.5cm (h – with shade fitted) and base 32cm (h) approximately.

Vintage 20th Century Mid-Century Modern-style bedside
table lamp

Offered for sale is this funky and fun vintage 20th Century Mid-Century Modern style bedside table lamp, estimated as dating from the 1970’s to 1980’s.
Influenced by contemporary West German examples, the design features a four-sided lamp base form in cream glaze with applied decoration and fitted lampshade. Highlighted in brown, each side has a stylised floral pattern with impressed ovals to help create the ‘petals’ (these are also found around the base of the neck). The lower and upper sections of the base have a repeated series of vertical impressed lines, occasionally highlighted with brown. The lampshape is of square form and has a coffee-coloured vinyl exterior with leopard print trim.
Casts a nice beam of light above and below (as pictured).
A great design accent for any room in your home or business.
In very good overall original condition. Works correctly, turns on and off at the switch (bulb not included). No visible fraying to the cord or damage to the 3-pin plug. Vintage 20th Century kitsch Shedwork Abalone and
Clam lamp

Offered for sale is this fun kitsch vintage 20th Century Shedwork lamp, possibly made in Australia post-WW2 and estimated as dating from the 1950’s to 1960’s.
The design features a multi-part construction made from three natural shells of differing sizes with a single light fitting. The base is most likely a white clam, mounted with a rear large abalone/paua shell and smaller hippopus hippopus at the front. The base of the abalone has been drilled to allow a light fitting (which turned on corrected) which casts a nice beam.
Perfect for any grotto, a practical as well as charming decorative piece for any home or business.

Vintage 20th Century Mid-Century Modern twin-pendant orange floor lamp

Offered for sale is this funky and fun vintage 20th Century Mid-Century Modern-style dual-light adjustable floor lamp, estimated as dating from the late-1970’s to 1980’s. Despite research, the country of manufacture could not be identified but the makers are clearly referencing pieces by European (or former Soviet-era) designers/brands such as Hillebrand, Drukov and Arnold Berges.
The colourful design features a multi-part construction, being an enamelled circular metal base with fitted chromed central shaft and two yellow plastic pendants having adjustable mounts in black resin.
Each pendant casts a warm yellow glow, and their angles can easily be can be changed to send light in multiple directions as desired.
In very good overall original condition. There is light patination appropriate for this being a used item and not modern reproduction. Was carefully washed and cleaned before sale. Has not been inspected by an electrician, so highly-recommended this is done before any use.

Vintage 20th Century brass Archaic Chinese-style lamp
of James Mont influence

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century cast-brass decorative table/desk lamp and shade, made post-WW2 in Taiwan and estimated as dating from the 1970’s. Originally retailed by Melbourne firm Southern Aurora Lamps Pty Ltd, it’s very much inspired by Archaic-Chinese Revival pieces created under legendary American designer and interior decorator James Mont during the 1950’s and 1960’s.
The design features a heavy cast two-part brass form mounted on a shaped wooden base. It follows examples of archaic temple bronzes from the Zhou and Shang Dynasties, with stylised dragons and mythical beasts depicted on all sides. Throws a lovely warm light.
A bold and dramatic lighting element for any home or business.

Vintage 20th Century Moriage-ware style lamp

Offered for sale is this large vintage 20th Century decorative Moriage-style table lamp, most likely Chinese or Japanese in origin and dating from the 1970’s to 1980’s.
Set on a carved wooden base this eye-catching piece features a repeated design of stylised foliage and blossom, panel screens and Buddhistic clouds; set on a cream background and highlighted with gold gilding. Fitted with a black shade that allows the design to take prominence.
In very good condition, works as pictured. There is a firing crack that is easily removed from view by placing the lamp in the opposite position. Has not been inspected by an electrician, so highly-recommended this is done before any use.

Vintage 20th Century USA-made Hollywood Regency Maximalist table lamp by Cornell

ffered for sale is this large vintage 20th Century USA-made Cornell Lamp Company ‘Hollywood Regency’ brass and amber glass table lamp, most likely dating dating from the 1960’s to early 1970’s. Cornell were well-known for producing decorative industrial and domestic lighting from the 1940’s to 1970’s.
A wonderfully over-the-top, frothy concoction of faux-Victorian-meets-NeoClassical-Revival high-kitsch design. Fitted with a smart square shade that allows the base to take centre stage.
A great feature piece for any home or business. Maximalist to the max!

Offered for sale is this impressive vintage 20th Century Marie Theresa 10-arm glass and metal chandelier, estimated to date from the 1940’s to early 1950’s. Despite extensive research, the maker is unknown but is most likely European in origin.
With restoration, this will become a stunning design accent for any home or business.
Offered in as-found condition - at a price that allows for choosing two paths: either a full restoration (rewiring, sourcing replacement pieces, re-gilding, etc) or (and this is my preference) testing first (rewiring only if necessary) and leaving the ‘shabby bougie chic’ patination that’s developed over a lifetime. And the pleasure of knowing you’ve given a quality vintage item a new lease of life! Has not been inspected by an electrician, so highly-recommended this is done before any use.

Offered for sale is this charming matching pair of vintage 20th Century Italian gilded ceramic ‘Florence ware’ lamps, sold in Australia by Mayfield Lamps (Hawthorn) and most likely dating from the early 1960’s.
Perfect ‘Mad men’ interior chic.
Both have their original stickers attached, and one still has the original sales tag!
Each is in very good original condition, with no chips or cracks to either ceramic base. One handle has a small amount of spotting to the gilding, and one shade may eventually require a small amount of gluing (but not absolutely necessary). The asking price takes all this into account.
