Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century Canadian clear resin and wooden wall plaque, made by DenCraft and most likely dating from the 1960’s to 1970’s. DenCraft produced a wide range of decorative interior items. The original factory label appears on the reverse.

The design features a colour photo of a snow-capped mountain, mirrored in a lake surrounded by pine trees. It is possibly an image of Mount Rainier in Oregon, USA.

A great piece of retro chic for any hipster household, business, log cabin, ski resort etc.

In very good original condition. Over time the resin patinated with some light scratches but no loses, reflecting this being a proper vintage item and not modern reproduction.

Offered for sale is this fun pair of vintage 20th Century hand-plenished decorative copper wall plaques, most likely dating from the 1960’s to 1970’s. Despite research, no further information on the identity of the artist ‘R’ can be provided at this time.

Each features a stylised image of a racing Greyhound with racing colours (but no number) – one is depicted in full stride, the other at rest (but alert).

Perfect for any lover of Greyhounds or as kitsch designer/decorative pieces.

In very good condition. Over time the copper has patinated and taken on a warm colour, reflecting each being a proper vintage item and not modern reproduction.

Offered for sale is this set of three vintage 20th Century African-made decorative copper and metal wall plaques, most likely dating from the 1960’s to 1980’s. Two are possibly made by Copperland of Swaziland (now the nation of Eswatini).

The trio features a leopard and two elephants. One is a matched, stylised pair (both copper on copper), the other is a more accurate bronze-patinated copper pressing on a sunburst copper background (there is a factory/makers mark that appears to be ‘L R/4’.

In very good condition. There is some light patination and small losses, which reflects these being proper vintage pieces and not modern reproductions.

Each of the matching pair measures 21cm (h) x 16cm (w), the other 12.5cm (h) x 17.5cm (w) approximately.

Vintage 20th Cent Hawaiian Coco Joes Pahu Puke lava statue

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century Hawaiian statue, made by Coco Joes for their ‘Legends in lava’ series and most likely dating from 1960’s to 1970’s. A famous maker of ‘Tiki Lounge’ ware, Coco Joes were based in Punaluu (Hawaii) and operated from the 1950’s to the 1980’s. Their popular range of ‘lava’ figures were made from a blend of powdered black volcanic rock and resin. This allowed for highly-detailed forms to be cast with a great level of detail. The original factory tag is present.

The design features an image of Pahu Puke (‘Keeper of books’) set again a woven-mat and bamboo background on a half-round plinth inset with tribal notch-carving.

A fun decorative item for home or business use. Time for lu’au, Arthur Lymann LP’s and Mai Tais!!

Offered for sale is this pair of vintage 20th Century art glass vases, made post-WW2 and most likely dating from 1950’s to 1970’s. Their country of origin may be Italy (Murano) or Japan.

Inspired by famous English art glass designers Stevens and Williams, the design of each features a multi-layered clear and coloured glass stylised floral spray set on a red/milk-glass body with ruffled lip.

A bright and colourful decorative pair for home or business use.

In good overall original condition. One has a very small abrasion to a single leaf, the other a chip to the base. The asking price takes this into account.

Set in an ornate frame, the design features a great side-on view of a stylised 17th/18th Century 3-masted galleon (set with 3/4 sail) riding some frothy waves.

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century Japanese-made pressed-metal novelty thermometer, made post-WW2 and most likely dating from the 1950’s to 1970’s.

The cute design features a female kangaroo and baby joey, depicted next to a tree-trunk with an inset thermometer. Has been engraved ‘LAKE FYANS Vict’ so would have been sold as a tourist momento during a visit to this well-known Grampians location.

Offered for sale is this fun vintage 20th Century Australian-made cross-stitch artwork, estimated as dating from the late 1980’s. The maker is unknown, however the work was framed by a Ballarat firm that opened in 1988 (around the same time ‘53’ was added in front of local phone numbers).

In a bright and cheerful style (that looks like a pixelated 1980/90’s computer/8-bit image) the craftsperson has carefully created a happy brown dog with hanging tongue set in a forested background. The breed could be an Irish Setter, Spaniel or Labrador.

Vintage 20th Century handcarved Parthenon Outsider Art/Tourist item

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century hand-carved (in relief) decorative wall hanging, most likely made in Australia (as a piece of Outsider Art) or Greece (as a tourist item). Probably dates from the 1960’s to 1980’s. Despite research the maker is currently unknown.

Utilising a thick slab of hardwood the artist has created a stylised relief carving of the instantly-recognisable World Heritage Listed Parthenon Temple, found on the Acropolis of Athens. There is a good level of detail, including a side view of the Temple of Athena Nike and distant hills with rising sun. Supporting this is a classical Greek meander border.

Perfect gift for any lover of ancient history or person of Greek descent.

Vintage 20th Century Japanese novelty mug

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century Japanese plated-metal and cobalt glass novelty mug. Research indicates these are considered to date from the late 1940’s, so may have been made for sale to allied forces of the Occupation Army (in Japan from 1945 to 1952). The maker is unknown, however there is a factory mark on the base.

The design of the cup-holder features well-detailed images of Mount Fuji, temple pagodas, dragons, a bridge and floral elements. Alongside these restrained and moderate elements is the (obviously) contrasting handle – a female figure with flowing hair.

In excellent original condition, no loss to the plating or chips to the glass.

Vintage 20th Century Bar display items oak barrel

Offered for sale is this collection of vintage 20th bar accessories/collectables. For sale as a group, will not separate.

Included is a small coopered oak barrel, set on feet and bound with four chromed rings. Possibly made in Australia and dating from the 1950’s to 1970’s. Currently for decoration only - one of the underneath stays is slightly pushed in, the head is loose as well as the tap (you could potentially return it to use by fitting a bladder and new tap). The chrome has patinated but you could restore this with a metal polish. Measures (including feet, but excluding tap/barrel cap) 18cm (h) x 14.5cm (w) x 15cm (d) approximately.

Also included are two Jim Beam Bowling Pin novelty bottles, dating from the late 1960’s to 1970’s. Nice to have a pair or these highly collectable pieces! Both have their original US Inland Revenue stickers (marked ‘Export’) attached. There is some light wear to the printing (but definitely still visible) but importantly both caps are in very good condition and with their pouring spouts in place (often missing). Each measures 31cm (h) x 9cm (diameter, at widest) approximately.

The design is a riot of Bacchanalian fun, with fruiting grape wines draped across the main body, screw and arms. And the handle-base is a wine barrel – of course!

Vintage 20th Century German Jerger mantle/bedside clock

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century German ‘Jerger’ table/mantle/bedside manual wind alarm clock, most likely dating from the 1950’s to 1960’s. A well-known maker of quality clocks and mechanical works, Jerger started business in 1905 and continued production until 1995.

The sweet design references antique brass carriage clocks of the 18th and 19th Centuries. Both the dial and sides of the white plastic/resin case have red roses as a main decorative element.

The case is in very good condition with no cracking or losses. The movement has been overwound at some point (although the alarm movement still works), so is sold as a decorative/restoration piece – but is correct twice a day.

Vintage 20th Century USA JAMECO novelty salt-and-pepper shakers of flower form

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century plated metal and plastic novelty salt-and-pepper shaker set, made in the USA by JAMECO Metal Products and most likely dating from the 1950’s to 1960’s. Attribution research indicates that JAMECO were based in New York and produced a variety of novelty tableware, vanity boxes, pin cushions as well as practical household items (such as lint removers). Marked ‘JAMECO © METAL PROD. CO. on the base.

The design is most wonderfully absurd – both the salt and peppers are modelled on stylised flowers that can each be ‘plucked’ for service from their ‘faux stem’ holders. Utter madness – and I love it! Bring some fabulously kitschy funk to your table with this fun and quirky piece.

In excellent overall condition. There is one very tiny spot of verdigris on the base (as pictured).

Vintage 20th Century Japanese 'Rhythm' wind-up mantle clock

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century Japanese manual-wind mantle-clock, most likely dating from the 1960’s to 1970’s. Made by ‘Rhythm’ (design No. 3RA027).

A funky design that features a copper sunburst dial with fancy hands. The resin case has a faux-wood finish with matching scalloped ends.

The mechanism works and takes a wind, running strongly (the alarm works as well) and keeps relatively good time over 24 hours. Please note like any vintage clock it will eventually require a service, however any competent watch/clock repairer will be able to perform this. There is a small fade line (where I think the sun passed across for many years!).

A groovy bit of kitsch for home or business decoration.

Vintage 20th Century Japanese glass-box diorama

Offered for sale is this fun vintage-20th Century Japanese glass-box diorama, most likely dating from the 1950’s.

What may at first appear a simple tourist item actually captures a miniature slice of Japanese culture: Zen meditation, geisha, tea ceremony and Shinto (nature worship). This very clever design begins with the printed mirror background, one half featuring flowers, a flowing stream, bridge and distant mountains. Contrasting this is a tea-house (chashitsu 茶室), with the backing mirror creating the illusion of an interior. On a grassed surface and dressed in classical hikizuri waits a stylised geisha between two trees (one Bonsai set on a stone – as seen in Zen gardens). Note the creator has gone to the effort of adding facial details that can only been seen in reverse, when looking into the mirror! Framing this scene is the outer printed glass, with a stylised pine-tree that adds to the idea of depth and takes your eye towards the geisha. The frosted glass side/top panels also ensure the viewer appreciates all this only from the front (as well supporting both the illusion of sky (top) and bamboo forest (sides)).

Vintage 20th Century Disneyland printed and gilt fluted bowl

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century American-made printed and gilt fluted glass Disneyland souvenir plate, most likely dating from the 1960-70’s. There are two recorded styles of this souvenir plate, this being the earlier version.

The design features Sleeping Beauty’s castle in a central boss, with six of the ‘fantasy lands’ depicted around this. My favourite is: ‘American-descends-into-idealogue-despotic-extremist-chaos-and-anarchy-land’ (funny because it’s true folks).

In great original condition. No cracks, chipping or damage.

Offered for sale is this vintage Australian original artwork in pencil and ink-pen, most likely dating from the late 1990’s. Am unfortunately unable to attribute the artist.

In a fantastically high-camp/Roy Lichtenstein pop-art style the artist has created a portrait of Australia’s actual princess – Koiy-lee Minogue! The overall composition (especially the bold tears) strongly reference Lichtenstein’s famous ‘Drowning Girl’ comic-book style print of 1963. A great example of domestically-relevant high kitsch!

You can make up your own mind as to what our Koiy-lee is saying to herself.

A fun and fantastic original artwork for any home or business.

Offered for sale is this fun vintage 20th Century printed glass novelty cocktail shaker, most likely made in the USA and dating from 1960’s to 1970’s.

In a red, white and blue colour-scheme, the bright design features antique ‘barber-shop’ style graphics with a jolly bartender as the central focus. On the reverse are several classic cocktail recipes: Manhattan, Daiquiri, Gimlet, Bloody Mary, Whiskey Sour and Rob Roy.

LARGE Vintage 20th Century USA Arnels

Neo-Classical Revival glazed ceramic vase

Offered for sale is this large Vintage 20th Century ‘Arnels’ high-glaze ceramic vase, most likely made in the USA and dating from 1981. A USA-based firm (started 1953 in Beaverton, Oregon), Arnels created a wide range of ceramic moulds and finished pieces (their most famous being the ‘Mushroom’ series). This piece was completed by Mary.

The design is modelled on a Greek vase of antiquity (around 200BC-0AD). The four panels depict scenes from a classical Bacchanalian feast with wine, grapes and music all happening within a raucous atmosphere (like a modern music festival just without the EDM). The glaze is over a gloss white body with soft blue wash (that nicely highlights not only the figures but the icananthus leaf, egg-and-dart and other styling elements).

An impressive decorative item for any hallway or as a dramatic table centrepiece.

Over time the glaze has developed a lovely overall cracquelure. No cracks (rings true) however there are two very tiny chips (as pictured) that the price takes into account.

Measures (with lid) 50.5cm (h) x 18cm (diameter, at widest) approximately.

The design features a hilarious combination of mosaic combined with a printed tile riffing on Thomas Constable’s ‘The Hay Wain’. Genius!

Offered for sale is this sweet vintage 20th Century Chinese porcelain cherub/putti/angel candle-holder, most likely dating from the 1990’s and made for Avon (ding dong!).

The modelling of the figure and construction of the roses is particularly fine.

A delightful and charming piece - would make a lovely highlight on any table or display.

In very good overall condition, there is one very tiny loss to a single rose (at the back) that the price takes into account (and cannot be seen from the front).
