Georg Jensen/Scandinavian style sterling silver pendant

and necklace

$55

Offered for sale is sterling silver necklace and chain. Despite extensive research the maker could not be identified, however the patination would indicate this being of some age. All pieces hallmarked ‘925’.

The bold Mid-Century Modern design is a relief-cast rectangular form with triangular loop, the designer appearing inspired by Scandinavian designers such as Georg Jensen. In a stylised angular style the central motif is a tree, framed by a rectangular gallery and set against a textured ground (which may have received some deliberate blacking treatment using liver of sulphur). Hangs on a well-made twist-chain necklace.

An attractive and eye-catching piece of modern jewellery.

In very good original condition. Over time the silver has patinated, appropriate for this being of some age.

Antique 20th Century English steel arm bracelet

Cleverly converted (by a previous owner) from a pair of sugar tongs, the elegant Art Nouveau design features a slightly ovoid form in stainless steel. Vintage 20th Century English costume jewellery brooch

by Thomas Mott

$25

Offered for sale is this charming vintage 20th Century English plated metal costume brooch, made by Thomas L Mott (TLM) and most likely dating from the 1950’s. The firm started operation (in Birmingham) during the late 1800’s, producing a wide range of popular costume jewellery, charms and enamel-work pieces before closing in the 1970’s.

The design features an ornate ovoid-form plated metal frame, inset with a printed image of bunched posies (mounted behind clear celluloid).

Great piece for any retro/nanna-chic lover to enjoy.

In very good original condition. There is some gentle patination to the metal and light foxing to the paper, as expected from a correct vintage item and not modern reproduction.

Measures 5cm (h) x 3.5cm (w) approximately.

Please check the photos as they form part of the item description.

Cash or direct deposit sale only. Can freight at buyers expense (must include insurance for damage or loss) or can personally deliver to Macedon Ranges, Melbourne, Geelong or Ballarat CBD’s for a fee. Antique/Vintage 20th Century Indian (Rajasthan)

tribal silver snake bracelet

$145

Offered for sale is this antique/vintage 20th Century Indian tribal silver ‘snake’ style bracelet, from the Rajasthan region and most likely dating from the early 1900’s to 1950’s.

The design features an embossed, two-piece clasp with left-threaded screw (to remove and secure the bangle) topped with a floral boss. From the clasps are fitted two tightly-braided silver flat-rope cords, held and separated by three embossed floral clasps.

In very good original condition. Over time the silver (which would be a lower grade than sterling) has patinated, which has not been polished but left intact to respect it being an antique/vintage piece.

Measures (joined) 21.5cm approximately.

Please check the photos as they form part of the item description.

Cash or direct deposit sale only. Vintage 20th Century Buddha pendant

$30

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century Buddha pendant and metal chain, made post-WW2 and estimated to date from the 1970’s to 1990’s. The country of origin is unknown but could be Tibet, India, Thailand, Cambodia or perhaps Bali.

Hand-carved on what may be a slice of yak horn (as buffalo horn is normally quite thin), the engaging design features a well-detailed image of the Buddha (that includes individually-cut hair curls inset with small copper/brass nails forming the ushnisha) twisted copper/brass wire head-piece and loop earrings. Suspended from a long plated chain with parrot clasp.

In good overall condition. Over time, some of the nails have patinated (confirming this being a vintage item and not modern reproduction). There is a small loss above the right eye and tiny one above the left (but then as in Buddhist philosphy, everything is intransigent and changing). Yes the price takes this into account.

The pendant measures 4.2cm (h) x 3.2cm (w) x 1.2cm (d), the chain is 60cm.

Please check the pictures as they form part of the item description.

Cash or direct deposit sale only.
