Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century art glass bowl, estimated to date from the 1960-70’s.
Having a mixture of swirled clear and cola coloured glass has created a dynamic piece that changes its look when viewed from different angles. You can see (and feel) the intent of the artist as their tong-marks remain where the shape was formed.
The ground base has the appropriate patination expected from a genuine vintage piece and not a modern one.
No chipping, cracks or losses.

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century Japanese Murano-style fluted art glass vase, most likely dating from the 1970’s and possibly by the Iwatsu or Sanyu Glass Companies.
An organic, attractive design that features five orange flutes blended with cola-coloured glass. It looks like a Jaffa!

Offered for sale is this pair of vintage 20th Century Italian Veccia Murano amethyst glass and gold-gilded vases. One of Venice’s most famous glass factories, Veccia is still in production today.
Each vase depicts the romantic scene of a courting couple overlooking the lagoon across to the island of Venice.
Both in excellent condition, no chipping or cracks, with the gilding showing little or no rubbing. A gentle clean will be required.

MASSIVE Vintage 20th Century Martini glass

Offered for sale is this oversize vintage 20th Century hand-blown martini glass, most likely dating from the 1980’s.
A wonderfully ridiculous expression of the ‘Greed is Good’ decade - when everything was bigger, better, brighter (or so we were lead to believe). Your shoulder-pads will grow just by looking at it!
Quality-wise this is a well made, individual piece – you can see twists where the glass was hand-formed (along with the trapped bubbles in the stem). Care has been used to professionally grind the rim edge for a proper (and safe to drink from) finish.
Perfect for home or business decoration. Would make a stunning centrepiece for any table or bar.

In excellent original condition, no cracks or chipping. There are one or two very small marks (tried to photo) but don’t detract from the impact this amazing glass has. During the forming process, a tiny speck of grit has become inclused (as pictured).

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century hand-formed smoky glass pitcher, most likely from the 1960-70’s. Difficult to attribute a maker, however based on the design could be English (Whitefriars), American (Blenko) or from Scandanavia.There is possibly a faintly etched ‘B’ or stylised crown inside the ground pontil (see last picture).
A weighty piece both in the literal sense and from a design perspective, with strong lines and unusual broadening neck. You can see where the maker has made their forming decisions – the trapped airbubbles add to its hand-made quality. Heavy and feels good in the hand.
No cracks, chips or damage. The raised base shows wear indicative of age and use.

Offered for sale is this unusual vintage 20th Century art glass bowl, possibly Italian Murano and dating from the 1960-70’s. Despite extensive research, another could not be found for comparison.
A quality, heavy piece of glass with a playful design! The charming work features a mother and baby duck, which have the appearance of floating on a pond. Each duck is formed from clear and alternating coloured glass bands. The bowl has a clear exterior and lime green core.
The base shows the correct wear you’d expect from a vintage piece. The remains of the ground pontil is evident.

Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century Italian cobalt blue glass decanter with silver gilding, made in Venice and most likely dating from the 1940’s to 1960’s.
In a stunning deep cobalt, the bulbous form has been hand-decorated with a scrolling foliate pattern. Importantly, the original fitted stopper is present and fits correctly (as these are often separated over time).

Vintage 20th Century (1998) Australian art glass footed platter by James McMurtrie

Offered for sale is this original and elegant vintage 20th Century art glass footed platter by renowned Australian glass artist, James McMurtrie. With a career spanning over four decades, James’ work is highly collectible and in demand. James completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in hot glass at Chisholm Institute of Technology in 1992. Over the following two years he worked as an assistant for Don Wreford and Richard Morrell before establishing his own studio at Pomonal, Victoria in 1996. Within his professional practice he produces two distinct areas of work – high quality, functional glassware including bowls, platters, vases and bottles; and works of a more sculptural nature in which James expresses his creative visions and close association with the Australian landscape. His contemporary pieces have modern flowing lines in a vibrant array of forms and colours; very appealing functional objects of great beauty. Signed at the base 'J Mc 98'.
What appears at first to be a simple comport form reveals itself as a unique and skilled craft item, made of three separately formed sections. The colour tones on the platter change from solid orange, soft red and strawberry depending on your viewing position. The artist’s hand is reflected by its frozen-in-time swirls and pull of the glass - especially at the base as it rises into the stem. All deliberate, with absolutely no frills. Minimal and powerful design at its best.
In James’ own words, ‘working with tools similar to those dating back to the first century BC fills me with a sense of history and tradition of the ancient techniques. Blowing glass can be physically demanding and challenging, yet for me it proves to be an exciting medium with which I can experiment and express my ideas with immediate results on a daily basis’.
